Meaning:
- (noun) a person who is good at doing something that is quite difficult
He was an adept at concealing the truth.
- good at doing something that is quite difficult
He became adept at getting even the shyest students to talk.
3. ADOPT

Meaning:
- to take somebody else’s child into your family and become its legal parent(s)
We would like to adopt a child.
- to start to use a particular method or to show a particular attitude towards somebody/something
All three teams adopted different approaches to the problem.
